Help Us Fill the Bin: Back-to-School Supply Drive at Local Cantina Brewery District
Back-to-school season is here, and Local Cantina Brewery District is teaming up with the Clintonville-Beechwold Community Resources Center (CRC) to help Central Ohio kids and families start the school year with the essentials they need.
Now through August 31, guests are invited to bring a new, needed donation to Local Cantina Brewery District, 743 S. High Street, Columbus, OH 43206.
And because doing something good deserves a little taco love, guests who make a donation will receive a Free Taco Card as our thank-you.
What We're Collecting
CRC is currently collecting items to help meet the needs of children and families in our community, including:
New socks and underwear
Backpacks
School supplies
Art supplies
Toiletries
Other requested essentials
Bring your donation to Local Cantina Brewery District through August 31, drop it in our collection bin, and we'll give you a Free Taco Card. No purchase receipt is needed. Just bring something new to help a neighbor who could use it.
More Than Back-to-School Supplies
We chose to support the Clintonville-Beechwold Community Resources Center because its work reaches far beyond its name.
Founded in 1971, CRC is a community-based social services organization with a mission to deliver responsive services, cultivate partnerships, and promote opportunities to foster a healthier community. Its programs provide support through family services, a Choice Food Pantry, youth programming, senior supportive services, Kinship Care and more.
At the heart of that work is a simple idea we can get behind: neighbors helping neighbors.
Supporting Kinship Families Across Franklin County
One CRC program we're especially proud to highlight is Kinship Care.
Kinship care happens when a relative or another close adult steps in to raise a child whose parents are absent from the home. Keeping a child with someone they already know can provide important stability while avoiding placement in a non-related foster home. CRC's Kinship Care Program supports these caregivers and children with resources related to food, housing, healthcare, transportation, education and other essential needs. The program focuses not only on meeting immediate needs, but also on helping children feel supported and giving them a stronger foundation for success in school.
And while CRC may have Clintonville-Beechwold in its name, its Kinship Care Program serves eligible families throughout all Franklin County zip codes.
That means a donation made right here in the Brewery District can be part of supporting children and caregivers throughout our greater Columbus community.
Tacos Are Better When They Do Some Good
Community has always meant more to us than simply being the neighborhood place for tacos and margaritas. Our restaurants are part of the communities around them, and we believe that comes with an opportunity to show up when we can.
So, while you're grabbing tacos at Local Cantina Brewery District this August, consider bringing a backpack, a package of new socks, school supplies or another needed item along with you.
We'll take care of the taco.
